Along with the natural beauty treatments, it is important to wind with natural hand and foot care, by regular cleaning and polishing. Drink several glasses of water daily to flush away toxins and impurities from your body.

I use to think 'better living through chemistry' was the optimal way but I've taken a second look. Chemicals do work but for many there can be negative side effects. Natural, like you say, gives you so much more control and it's a lot cheaper to boot and there are so many great natural beauty products on the market. Great post, thanks.

Interesting content.

Just wanted to share some information that may help busy professionals caught up with work and who have less time to maintain their nails. You can try out gel nails which are now becoming a hot favorite as they are natural looking even without nail tips and the best way for nail enhancement. Also, if you are allergic to those strong smelling chemicals which you can experience with acrylic nails, then you should use gel nails as these are odorless.

However, when you are planning on gel nail application, make sure you approach a nail salon or a nail artist who is well versed with gel nails and is properly trained and mastered in gel applications. This will save you from problems that can arise with improper gel nail applications.

I've read through the series thus far and find it very interesting. Once I determine my skin type I may just try my hand at making some of the products.

I can't wait to see tomorrow's post!

I'm currently using honey as a face cleanser and once in a while I will add baking soda to it for that grainy exfoliating feel.

As I get older, my skin seems to be getting more sensitive and less oily, so I've recently started using extra virgin olive oil. And I use witch hazel sometimes too.

I'd love to find out what else I could be using and what I can combine.

I'm pretty sure there is Michelle, but my recommendation would be to take her to a Naturopath who can help figure out why the imbalance is taking place. :-) My first guess would be cleaning up the gut - strong probiotics and maybe even a detox diet for a week or so. I'm not an expert in this area so I would talk to a health care practitioner I trusted for advice.

Thanks for such an informative blog. I am dragging around so badly, dependent on caffeine and need to get back to natural living.

Carrie,

Just downloaded your Earthy Beauty Guide and wanted to say thank you. I look forward to seeing the recipes you will be posting. Is there any chance one might be an acne recipe? Just hopeful. I have considered purchasing that popular Proactin for my daughter but have been hesitant because of the chemicals. She is struggling very bad with acne, but I don't want to torture her with all sorts of different treatments. Just the ones that come from a reliable source!
Thank you, Carrie
