Redecorating? Bring Out The Tea – Bags, That Is

May 25, 2007

If you’re doing any painting, gluing or redecorating and might be stirring up some chemicals that will outgas, scatter black tea bags around the room. They can absorb chemicals in the air and help the air become fresher sooner.

A 2002 study by the Tokyo Metropolitan Consumer Center found that scattering tea bags through a newly remodeled room reduced the toxic levels by up to 90 percent.

If you’re painting, especially in a child’s room, try a no VOC paint like Milk Paint.
