Remedies – ‘Tis the Season

December 17, 2008

Since we’re in the middle of winter and most of us with kids will go through at least one period of illness during this season, I thought I would compile a list of the articles on this site that relate to treating acute illnesses at home. snoozy trio / This is Today 72

It’s a good idea to compile a basic at home herbal first aid kit so you have the items you need without always having to send someone out to the store. Garlic is always good to keep on hand, as is honey, lemons and a few herbs such as lavender, slippery elm (for sore throats), oregano (viruses and fungal infections), etc.

I also like homeopathic kits. While they won’t contain every single homeopathic remedy you would ever want, they have the most commonly used ones.

I’ve had smaller ones like the Hylands Kids Kit which contains 7 remedies for babies and toddlers for issues like teething and colds and fevers, and the Hyland’s Remedy Chest which has 29 remedies.

Home remedies for a sore throat

Seasonal affective disorder symptoms

Natural cough and cold remedies

Home remedies for children’s colds

Home remedies for kid’s ear infections

What do you keep on hand to deal with everyday sicknesses in your house?
