Mrs. Clean Jean’s Housekeeping with Kids Book
This book is full of great ideas on how to get your children to help around the house without nagging or punishing or constant reminding. It gives you strategies on how to entice your child to clean up and be responsible with duties around the house without bribing or fighting with them.
I spent my children’s entire young lives trying to get them to clean their room, bring me their dirty clothes and pick up after themselves. This was a constant battle that ended with me doing most of the work while arguing and fighting with them. Needless to say, I really could have used this book.
With great ideas on how to get your children up and going to help you run a tidy home, this book brings it all to the forefront. There are charts laid out in age groups that help children know what their chores are and when they are to be done. There are also some great room ideas on how to organize things to make it easier for children when cleaning up.
Tactics such as allowing your children to pick their favorite chores to do and having a set time for everyone to do the chores so they are all working together at the same time are a few things Mrs. Jean brings out in this book. Parts of it are really pretty funny and I found myself laughing at some of her little comments and tips. Easy to read and very helpful, this book will set you on the right track to getting your kids involved.
The graphics and the index are very helpful and make it super easy to find exactly what you’re looking for. This book will help you stop the arguments and confusion that most of us have when it comes to getting our children to pitch in.
Before you know it your child will be helping and doing many of their cleaning responsibilities all on their own. I think this book is a must for anyone with children and it may just become a part of my baby shower gift baskets from now on.
