Review: Desert Essence- Tea Tree Oil Facial Cleansing Pads

Submitted by: Esperanza

For years I’ve read about the benefits of tea tree oil, mainly for your skin. I had purchased a bottle of pure tea tree oil in the past and thought the scent was too overwhelming. What I did like about tea tree oil, however, is that it is effective against blackheads and keeping the skin clear of blemishes. When I saw this bottle of facial cleansing pads containing all natural tea tree oil, I decided to give it a try.

What I immediately noticed is the scent of tea tree oil is very strong. Since this is not a scent I enjoy, it’s hard for me to use in large doses. The good thing is, the jar contains 50 pads already presoaked. All I have to do is take out a pad and not have to deal with applying or diluting the tea tree oil before use. It takes less than a minute to wipe your face with the pad, paying special attention to areas of blemish. Stay away from the eyes, as the tea tree oil can burn them.

I’ve been using these pads at least twice a day for a week now and like the way my skin looks. I could almost describe it as “glowing” and have been told the same. Although the scent is not my cup of tea, I have stuck with the beauty routine of using it because I am happy with the results.

Some other benefits of tea tree oil include anti-inflammatory properties, pain reducer for mosquito bites and cuts, helps with dandruff and acne, antibacterial and so much more. Overall I would recommend this product to anyone who is looking to improve their skin’s appearance, naturally and non-harshly. Find the tea tree cleansing pads in natural food stores such as Trader Joe’s (where I purchased mine) or online at
