The Tale of Despereaux Giveaway

April 12, 2009

This week I’m giving away The Tale of Despereaux DVD to someone.

Did you read my review of the movie here?

We loved the book and I wasn’t surprised that the movie was great too.

Just leave a comment below if you would like to win. I’ll choose a winner on Friday, April 18th at NOON Eastern time.

In the meantime, here’s a video clip you can watch.

    Carrie,

We would love to win a copy of this movie! Our children really liked it, though I must confess to not having read the book yet! (Does this disqualify us, LOL?!) It would certainly be fun to win something. Thank you, Carrie

I would love this! I’ve never read it before but recently got the book for my kids. We are planning on reading a little each day as we drive (we are moving) and they have been asking for the movie since they’ve seen it at the store. :)

I think this movie is so cute. I would love to have my own copy to watch again and again. We loved it in the theater. Thanks for this opportunity.

I read this book to my youngest as he was doing his creeping/crawling for his brain development program. It is such a great book for a child who has struggles to overcome—really inspiring to him that he can be everything he dreams of being—and even more.

We haven’t seen the movie yet—we’ve wanted to but just haven’t had the time. We’d love to have this in our home collection!

I met the author at a reading conference just as she was finishing this book but it wasn’t published yet. I haven’t seen the movie. I’ve been disappointed at all of the great kids books made into movies lately. Most haven’t followed the book much at all. I’m curious to see this one. Thanks for the opportunity to win the DVD.

This looks like an adorable movie! Thanks for the chance to win it. Will be hunting down the book at the local library, my DD loves adventure tales like this!

I love book/movie combinations for kids. My daughter doesn’t need much encouragement to read (we’re a bookworm kind of family), but it’s fun for her to be able to make connections between different activities that she does and to talk about the differences between media. (What gets left out — or added to — the story? Does the character in the movie look anything like she imagined it?)

Not to mention that as a mom I like characters who dare to be different! What a great message to teach a kid, with all the pressure they get to fit in.

I guess we’re a bit behind the times here in the land of Oz.. I haven’t even heard of the movie, but that’s not to say it hasn’t been released here, I’m just a little slow perhaps. LOL. I looked at the ‘taster’ (bit of a bad pun in there) above and liked what I saw. Would love a copy.

    Thanks

Got something to say?
