Work at Home Mom Success Tips

I wanted to pass along this interview that I did with Christina Lemmey for MommysPlace, an excellent work at home Mom resource website.

If you’re considering starting an online business or are new to the internet marketing/wahm world, you might find it inspiring at least and helpful too. I talk about:

  • The journey from my first website to full time wahm
  • How I decided to target the natural mom niche
  • Some of my early mistakes marketing online
  • Tips on finding your niche
  • Support – finding it and leveraging other’s wisdom
  • My biggest obstacles (this one will surprise you)
  • The internet and passive income (this is great for moms!)
  • Advice for those who are discouraged

  1. The interview was fantastic, Carrie. Like I said on my blog I’ve already listened to it twice. :)

Just listened to the interview (me too, listened twice). I got a bunch of good advices for my own biz and also enjoyed hearing your story.

  3. Thank you Carrie for a very revealing interview. I was inspirational and recharged my batteries. I highly recommend anyone new to affiliate marketing and online business should listen to this first!

  4. Thanks for the great information. I was curious about your comment about making a mistake by having a blogpspot blog instead of one on your website. I have both but haven’t used the one on my website yet. I have a few blogs on blogspot. What should I be doing instead??

    Thanks!

I’m glad the audio was valuable to you ladies!

Heidi, I would suggest you publish your blog on your own domain. For instance, the blog here is at naturalmomstalkradio.com/blog rather than naturalmomstalkradio.blogspot.com

Not only does this look more professional but it also keeps the traffic coming to your home on the web.

Does that clear it up? Because I didn’t publish that old blog on my own domain, I’m now losing traffic. Lesson learned!

  6. Thanks for your reply Carrie. I’m still just a little confused. How does using blogger cause you to lose traffic? Can’t you have the same links to your website with blogger as you would with your own domain blog? I understand it looks more professional to have the blog on your own domain.

Should I transfer all my posts from blogger over to my domain blog or just start over?

Great interview, Carrie! I appreciate how you always so freely share your experience and tips.

    Hi Heidi,

You can publish your blog on your own domain using blogger… you publish it to your website instead of the blogspot subdomain. I’m sorry if I didn’t make that clear! There’s nothing wrong with using the blogger software (although I think wordpress is superior!) as long as you set up your account (in the publishing tab in your blogger account) to ftp to your own website.

    Does that make more sense?

  9. Yes, that makes sense. Thanks for your help.
